Responsibilities at Semko
Responsibility is an important part of our operations as a workshop. In our responsibility report you can read about how we work from an environmental, people and good governance perspective. The responsibility that is part of our values is reflected in our commitment to high quality and reliable cooperation.
We continuously develop our production in such a way that we minimize environmental impact, ensure the safety of our personnel and work openly and ethically throughout the supply chain.
Our goal is to reduce the carbon footprint of our production and products annually. We use new raw materials and production techniques to achieve this. Minimizing and optimizing material losses are fundamental issues in our production.
Metal waste is 100% recycled. All cutting fluids, paints and other chemicals are handled responsibly. Our workshop has invested heavily in the work environment and preventive measures.

Certificates
Load-bearing steel structures
Semko Oy’s production is carried out according to the standard for load-bearing steel structures EN 1090-2 in performance classes EXC1-3.
Welding
In welding, we meet the requirements of the standards EN ISO 3834 and EN ISO 17660-1, for which our operations are also certified.
Standard products
The standard products are subject to the Finnish Concrete Association’s application specifications, which can be found on each product page and can be easily copied to, for example, add to a product folder if necessary.
Construction products
The declarations of performance required for construction products are available for both standard products and more specialised steel products. They specify the essential characteristics of the product and its performance levels in accordance with the EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR). The declarations of performance for our standard products can be found under the products. We can provide them for other steel parts on request.
Quality control and auditing of operations
Our operations are inspected and audited annually by both the Finnish Kiwa Sertifiointi Oy and the Swedish Nordcert AB.
Quality is also continuously monitored in our own testing laboratory and through internal inspections of both production and outgoing goods.
Environmental declaration
Semko’s standard products have an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) ISO 14025 (EN 15804), which accounts for the environmental impact of the products throughout their entire life cycle, from the procurement of raw materials to the construction site. The EPD ensures transparency, reliability and comparability of the products’ environmental data, which promotes sustainable production and consumption.

We have designed and calculated our standard products so that you can focus on a comprehensive design. As a designer, we provide you with usage and calculation instructions that make structural design easy and flexible.
Products
We offer a comprehensive range of standard products for connection and fastening solutions in concrete construction. The range includes fastening plates, foundation bolts, corner fasteners, wall and column shoes, expansion joints as well as slab hangers for hollow core slabs, balcony fasteners and Jasu lifting containers for concrete.
